  • Our one-on-one tutoring sessions are a safe and supportive environment where students can actively participate in the learning process. We offer support in reading, writing, math, and other subjects.

    We also provide support to students needing assistance with executive functioning skills, such as planning, prioritizing, and initiating work.

    Our goal is to help students understand their unique learning styles and how to use this knowledge at school and home and build new skills for success in life.

  • We offer college counseling for every kind of student. We have successfully helped students to be accepted to their first choice of schools in highly competitive programs, including Stanford, MIT, and the University of Washington, to name just a few.

    Students with unique learning needs may believe there are few options for post-secondary education available to them. Within the past several years, many colleges and universities now offer expanded support programs for students with learning challenges.

    Island Educational Services offers support for students and their families through the journey of selecting an appropriate college, university, or program. In addition, tutors can help students navigate the application process, including assistance in writing college essays. Our expertise also includes supporting students through college transition for those with more challenging needs.

    We also offer support for college-level math and language arts students and GED coaching and support for high school students. For those students who have left the Bainbridge Island area for post-high school opportunities, we offer remote meetings in academic and organizational coaching to make the transition from high school to college more successful.

  • For students challenged with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) or EF (Executive Functioning deficits), our tutors offer one-on-one training in strategies to enhance learning abilities and better manage the challenges they may face in school, college, or future employment environments.
